Sharpening Service at Little Shavers

Tools purchased from Little Shavers are always sharpened prior to sale and are resharpened free of charge.

They may be mailed to us and you pay only the shipping costs.

(you must notify us that the tool or tools were purchased from us)

To send tools, please follow these four steps closely:

(1) Protect the sharp ends (folded newspaper and masking tape or painters tape work well)Do NOT use packaging tape, scotch tape or duct tape on your tools, and pack to prevent tool movement inside the package. If you are shipping several tools, the post office provides a "Flat-Rate" box that may save you money. ***If you are sending tools by UPS, please call for a physical address, since they do not ship to a PO Box.

(2) Include your name, address, and telephone number inside the package.

(3) If the value is under $50 use delivery confirmation; over $50 it is best to insure your tool(s) and/or use delivery confirmation. Let us know the insured value if you wish us to insure them on the return trip

We cannot be responsible for tools lost before they arrive at Little Shavers, or tools that are broken, due to improper packaging.

We will insure them on the return trip if you note the amount desired.

(4) Provide any special instructions.

Special instruction examples and prices:

a) Repair loose handle (included in sharpening)

b) Reshape broken/chipped blade (included in sharpening)

c) Sharpen for hardwood carving (included in sharpening)

d) Tighten loose ferrule (included in sharpening)

e) Replace ferrule (additional charge price varies)

f) Modify blade to a new configuration (additional $8.00)

g) Replace wood knife handle (additional $12.00)

h) Replace wood carving tool handle (additional $10.00)

(No finish is applied to replacement handles)

Please Note:

All tools are sharpened for carving basswood unless otherwise requested

V-tools are ground 90 degrees to the shank unless otherwise specified

I do not sharpen, restore, or add handles to Northwest Indian Bent Knives

unless they were purchased from Little Shavers.

I do not replace or repair any handles on kitchen cutlery.

Pocket Knives not purchased from Little Shavers will be charged $8.00 to modify plus sharpening. We sharpen all pocket knives, but only modify blades to a new configuration if the blades lock back.

We charge USPS shipping plus a $2.50 handling fee. **PLEASE PROVIDE A CREDIT CARD NUMBER, INCLUDING THE EXPIRATION DATE AND 3 DIGIT SECURITY CODE. YOU MAY USE THE ORDER FORM OR CALL US WITH YOUR INFORMATION. CREDIT CARD INFORMATION MUST MATCH BILLING ADDRESS. We accept Visa or Master Card.
